How does it work?

The IronTree application runs as a service on your PC, launching automatically at a daily scheduled time without any user intervention.

Data selected for backup is compressed, encrypted and encoded before leaving your PC.

As long as your computer is powered on and has Internet connectivity, your data backup set will be transmitted to our data centre and added to the catalogue of backups for your company.

Daily email notifications indicating backup results give visibility as to backup status, so immediate action can be taken should a backup fail for whatever reason.

The online backup application running on your PC/server gives complete visibility on:

  • Backup history, including detailed log files
  • Data selections

It also enables you to:

  • Modify data selections
  • Launch manual backups if necessary
  • Complete restore functionality of the complete data set or selected individual files

Would you like to backup multiple PCs or laptops but need each user to have his/her own secure account credentials? The IronTree site licence scenario is structured as follows: Each machine at a single location has an individual IronTree account registered on the specific machine. Each machine backs up uniquely to the IronTree storage platform daily. Each account holder/PC operator thus has his/her own account registration details and can thus select to backup or restore the required data from his/her hard drive/s. Each PC/laptop is billed a monthly licence fee of R40 + VAT. IronTree then groups all the 'site machines' together. At month end, a single data fee based on the total volume of data being stored across the entire site will be billed. The fee is in accordance with the standard IronTree pricing.

Our premium service has been designed with this in mind and ensures the maintenance and oversight of your backups is provided from an IronTree technical support engineer every quarter.
